Parent/Guardian FAQ
WHAT IS IN SCHOOL MENTORING?
In-school mentoring is mentoring that occurs AT your child's school. Mentors and mentees meet together in the counselor's office, the library, playground, lunchroom, or any other spaces allowed by your child's teacher or school counselor.
WHY DOES MENTORING MATTER?
Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. -Mentoring.org
HOW WILL MY CHILD BE MATCHED WITH A MENTOR?
After we receive an application for your child, we will place them on a waitlist. Once we have a mentor available that would match well with your child, we will contact the school counselor to initiate a first meeting.

WHO CAN I SPEAK TO ABOUT MY CHILD AND THEIR MENTOR?
You can bring any concerns or questions to your child's school counselor or email us at [email protected].
DOES MY CHILD GET A NEW MENTOR EVERY YEAR?
As long as your child and their mentor wish to continue their mentoring relationship, mentors and mentees stay together each year.
