Pen Pals Program Description
Due to COVID-19, CCMP has developed a new form of service delivery, Clarke County Mentor Program Pen Pals, to keep our existing mentors and mentees engaged with one another, as well as to foster new mentor-mentee relationships. As pen pals, the mentor and mentee will exchange letters, helping to build the student’s writing and literacy skills, while also having some fun using age-appropriate writing prompts that will be provided.
Mentees who participate in this program will be matched with a mentor from our organization who has undergone screening and training. Mentors and mentees will be provided with age-appropriate writing prompts and all necessary supplies to write letters to each other, including envelopes, stamps, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, stickers, and paper.

Pen Pals Program FAQ
How long will the pen pals program run?
The Pen Pals Program will begin in late Fall and is expected to run for at least 8 – 12 weeks (hopefully longer).
Will addresses be shared between mentors and mentees?
No. Mentee addresses will not be shared with Mentors and vice-versa. The Clarke County Mentor Program will act as a central distributor, receiving and forwarding all mail.
How often should we mail letters?
The goal for our mentors and mentees is that they will send each other a letter once per a week, helping to replace the time that they would generally spend together inside of the schools.
